DES MOINES, IOWA- Floral industry veteran Karen Leggett accepted a new position with Borgen Systems in September 2014. Her primary responsibility will be to support all customers in New England, Connecticut, upstate New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia to help develop sales programs and merchandising services to better meet the needs of the customers in these regions.
“I’m thrilled to have an experienced and respected floral industry leader such as Karen join our team to share her expertise with our diverse customer base, as we launch several new product lines across all perishable departments,” said Borgen Systems Vice President, Bill Carlson. “Going forward, we want to embed our sales force in the territories in which they serve. Karen is an accomplished writer, speaker and industry networker who has held key positions in the mass market floral business during her 30-year career. She worked within retail flower shops, landscaping, and garden centers, before beginning her supermarket career at Shaw’s Supermarkets where for 19 years she held key positions in Floral, Produce, ITS and Buying Support. Karen worked for six years in Sales and Marketing at Sunshine Bouquet Co. She has served on several boards for PMA and FMA, developed trade show booths, and workshops for IFE panels, while continually working to promote education and training within the floral industry.
